Alleged rape at FSW not first for school

SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — An alleged rape in a Florida SouthWestern State College dormitory Friday is not the first sex offense on the campus.

According to crime statistics reported under the federal Clery Act, another rape happened at on campus housing in 2015.

The same year, an incident of fondling was also reported in student housing. Another incident of fondling took place on campus but not inside a dormitory.

The school did not report any sex offenses for the 2013 or 2014 school years.

The Clery Act report for FGCU shows six reported incidents of fondling for 2015, three rapes in 2014 and three forcible sex offenses in 2013.
