
FORT MYERS, Fla. Hurricane Jose maintained its Category 4 status Saturday as it moved toward the Northern Leeward Islands, the National Hurricane Center said.
“Jose remains a dangerous Category 4 Hurricane,” the National Hurricane Center said.
Hurricane Jose’s maximum sustained winds weakened to 1430 mph as of the 11 p.m. advisory, according to the National Hurricane Center. The storm is moving northwest at 14 mph, and is about 110 miles north of the Northern Leeward Islands.
