Two Hendry County educators and a school secretary are under investigation after being suspected of inappropriate behavior with students.

Last week a female substitute teacher at Clewiston Middle School was caught either kissing or being kissed by a student and had been removed from the substitute list. The incident has been sent to the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office for investigation, according to Paul Puletti, superintendent of schools in Hendry County.

Last week a Clewiston High School teacher resigned after an investigation was opened based on allegations of sending inappropriate photos to students. That teacher had been with the district for about one year, and this case has been sent to HCSO for investigation.

On Thursday, a Clewiston High School secretary was removed from the school because she allegedly sent inappropriate photos to students. She has been with the district for nearly five years. The case has been sent to the HCSO for investigation.

Puletti told WINK News one of the incidents had been sent to Tallahassee for review.

“They are adults; they know better than to send inappropriate photos,” said Puletti on preventing future issues. The School District of Hendry County also has policy, ethics and training every year to deter this behavior.
