DeSantis outlines state’s plans for federal stimulus funding

Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference Tuesday afternoon at the Capitol in Tallahassee.

He spoke about how the state plans to spend billions of dollars in federal stimulus funding, including $1,000 bonuses for first responders, police, EMTs, firefighters and others, though he made no mention of teachers or health care workers.

Some of the other proposed uses for the funding include $1 billion for the Resilient Florida Grant program, $260 million in relief for seaports, $73 million for fixing the state’s broken CONNECT unemployment system, $72 million for behavioral health management, $50 million for Florida marketing and $41.7 million to the National Guard.
