The 2-day event WINK Taste of the Town kicks off Saturday morning.

It features local restaurants and businesses across Lee County.

It runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at downtown Fort Myers’ Centennial Park.

There will be more than 25 food trucks, which means a lot of food choices to pick from.

The event also benefits Cameo of Lee County, a group that dedicates its time to bettering the lives of seniors in need.

Danielle Gates, who owns an event-planning company called Businesses Supporting Communities, said restaurants are excited to be back for Taste of Town.

“They’ve been hit really hard with trying to have staff and food cost, so they’ve had a hard time,”  Gates said.

BBQ & Taco Works Owner Ozie Norrobel said he has been part of the event for years and always looks forward to it. Norrobel said he always gets a lot of loyal customers thanks to the event.

“It’s a fun event. The weather is always perfect and I’m glad it’s two days this year,” Norrobel said. “I just found out it was two days yesterday so it’s kind of neat but I love it. I love the music, I love the food. Just see everybody in town.”

The first 2,500 people get in for free.
