5 suspects arrested after 7 grams of fentanyl found in Punta Gorda home

Five suspects have been arrested after the search of a home in Punta Gorda found seven grams of fentanyl Tuesday morning.

According to the Punta Gorda Police Department, the search of the residence on Coco Plum was done with the assistance of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office narcotics unit following an investigation that lasted several weeks. During the search warrant, more than seven grams of fentanyl were located throughout the home.

Five people were arrested and face charges of possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia: Scott Fraser Baer, Jr. of Punta Gorda; Julie Junelle Michael of Fort Myers; Scott Anthony Starkey of Sarasota; Katie Rose Buongiorno of Port Charlotte; and Sean McHugh Baer of Punta Gorda. Baer also faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance for other illegal drugs found in his possession.

All five suspects were booked into the Charlotte County jail.
