Gubernatorial candidates, Nikki Fried and Charlie Crist make their final pitches ahead of primaries on Tuesday.

Being only three days from the Florida primaries, two gubernatorial candidates are busy making their final bids for the Democratic nomination.

Fried held a campaign house party today at Congressional candidate Cindy Banyai’s Olga home in Fort Myers on Saturday.

Fried says she has what it takes to take down Governor Ron DeSantis.

One of Fried’s main talking points was women’s reproductive rights. Fried said it has been her top focus in her battle against DeSantis.

Fried said she’s fighting for women like the 16-year-old girl who was denied an abortion in Florida after a judge ruled, she wasn’t mature enough to make the decision.

“It is a tragedy. This is a girl who is a warden of the state, so she doesn’t have parents. But unfortunately, here in the state of Florida, there is a law on the books that says you need a parent’s or guardians to sign off on an abortion,” Fried said.

Fried also talked about the importance of campaigning in republican majority areas like Southwest Florida.

“In order to win our state, we got to be sure that we’re talking to everybody, not just democratic areas, republican independent areas. And that’s why part of this last bus tour, we wanted to come back here to fort Myers,” Fried said.

Fried said she’s also fighting for teachers and minorities who would be impacted by the recently blocked ‘Stop WOKE Act.’

Crist was also on his campaign trail today. He made stops in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

On Thursday, DeSantis announced that 20 people who voted in the 2020 election would be arrested and charged for breaking the state’s election laws on felon voting rights.

Crist said the move targets Democrats in Broward county.

“It’s disappointing and it looks like sheer intimidation to me. He didn’t hold a press conference in the villages, he held a press conference in Broward County where there are more democratic voters than any place in the sunshine state,” Crist said.
