A Cape Coral woman has claimed a $1 million prize from a scratch-off game.

Jenny Marotzke, 38, chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000, according to a news release from the Florida Lottery.

Marotzke won the money from the 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at the Lottery’s Fort Myers District Office. She purchased her ticket from Publix, at 1631 Del Prado Boulevard South in Cape Coral. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.

The $50 game, 500X THE CASH, features a top prize of $25 millionā€”the largest ever offered on a Florida Scratch-Off gameā€”and the best odds to become an instant millionaire! The gameā€™s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50.

Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 77 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $1.8 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2021-22.
