Monday continues dry spell; rain chances returning by the weekend

Dry weather will continue for another day Monday, with a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

This quiet weather pattern will continue through Wednesday before changes arrive Thursday.

A weak front will dive down the Florida Peninsula and stall out near Southwest Florida on Thursday.

This will bring increasing chances for rain from Thursday onward into the weekend, with a few spotty showers becoming possible each day.

In the tropics, a few areas in the west-central Atlantic are being monitored for development. They both have low chances of becoming a tropical depression or tropical storm as of Monday morning.

Fortunately, The Weather Authority’s computer models show both disturbances staying away from Florida, so they should not be a worry to us.

There are some early model signals of some possible development in the Caribbean mid-week next week, so that is something we may have to monitor down the road. For now, though, there is nothing to worry about locally.
