A Hendry County man was found guilty on Tuesday of trafficking drugs from his home in 2021.

According to court documents, Jay Alexander, 44, was found guilty as charged, following a one-day trial in Hendry County, of trafficking in amphetamine – 28 grams to 200 grams, possession of a place with knowledge of trafficking, sale or manufacture of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia.

In September 2021, the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office’s narcotics unit searched Alexander’s home after drugs and drug paraphernalia were seen there by a state probation officer. During the search, Alexander admitted the drugs in the home belonged to him.

There were four bags of methamphetamine found, weighing 94.2 grams. Deputies also found Oxycodone pills, glass smoking devices with meth residue inside, and a glass tube with magnets on it to help deliver and transport narcotics, which also had drugs inside.

Alexander’s sentencing is scheduled for March 1.
