Florida’s Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez and Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Jared Perdue were in south Fort Myers on Wednesday to talk about the Moving Florida Forward plan.

The Moving Florida Forward project will invest $7,000,000,000 into 20 infrastructure projects across the state, including here in Southwest Florida.

Southwest Florida projects include a diverging diamond interchange at Pine Ridge Road and I-75. It’s the same kind of interchange that’s under construction at Colonial Blvd. and I-75.

There are also plans to convert the six lanes of I-75 to eight lanes from Corkscrew Rd. to Golden Gate Pkwy.
