A woman is making an impact on balancing businesses on the beach and is now getting national attention.
Jacki Liszak, the president of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, has been helping businesses get back on track in Fort Myers Beach.
Nothing is stopping her even if that means housing workers herself.
Liszak’s hard work even caught the eye of the first lady of the United States.
Jill Biden invited Liszak to Washington, D.C., to have dinner with her and watch the president’s State of the Union address from the first lady’s box.
After WINK News profiled Liswak last week, after our stories aired on Friday, a White House staffer got in touch with Liszak. She said she didn’t believe it at first.
“Well, firstly, thank you, obviously, and to let her know what an honor and privilege this is and how much I appreciate it. But more so to talk to her a little bit about our community and about Fort Myers Beach and about what we’ve been through as a community and thank them for the federal support that we’ve received so far,” Liszak said. “But to let them know, we are not out of the woods yet. This is going to be a long road. And we’re going to need continued support in the months and years to come.”
