The Florida Department of Transportation wants to hear solutions from the people who drive I-75 daily and know its problems the best.

FDOT believes people who have driven on the I-75 south corridor, a 42-mile stretch from Collier County to Lee County, know firsthand how to help and how traffic can be a nightmare during rush hour and in the evening when people are trying to go back home. The department is holding a public meeting on Thursday afternoon, so you can provide your recommendations to make things safer and easier from Collier Boulevard to Bayshore Road.

FDOT is currently analyzing the current challenges people may be facing on this route. The plan may include widening lanes, modifying interchanges or evaluating new interchanges.

When driving to and from places, take a mental note of what you see and run into. You can also view the master plan online.

In addition to Thursday’s event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 15000 Livingston Road in Collier County, there will be a digital event on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
