Charlotte County deputies have arrested a man for two separate shootings that took place in Port Charlotte.

Deputies responded to a call late Saturday, where one person was shot and sent to a local hospital with a single gunshot wound that authorities said was not life-threatening.

According to deputies, “the victim stated that he had been shot while meeting with an acquaintance between 11:30 and 11:45 p.m. to purchase marijuana on Conway Blvd. in Port Charlotte. The juvenile only knew the acquaintance as ‘Joe’ but admitted that he had purchased marijuana from him before.”

A second shooting was reported three hours after the call on Conway Boulevard.

The second shooting occurred on Olean Boulevard, where several rounds had been shot into a home. No injuries were reported.

CCSO reports that the owner of the home told deputies that her son was having issues with another individual. The son produced a photo of Joseph Muncan, 18, as the person they were having the conflict with.

Upon further investigation, the victim of the first shooting was able to identify the shooter as Muncan.

Deputies arrested Muncan on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
