Two ATVs were issued tickets at Barefoot Lake and towed away over the weekend after the property owner decided to bar the public.

Nearly 200 people would go to Barefoot Lake in Lehigh Acres every weekend to relax, fish, swim and have a good time.

The owner decided to bar the public after a fight broke out at the lake on April 28. Neighbors also said ATV riding has gotten out of hand lately.

On April 28, a man got off a dirt bike and wildly threw jabs and hooks at every person at the lake.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office set up a new Watch Tower with cameras to stop people from trespassing.

Deputies will also monitor access points and issue citations for reckless driving of ATVs. Violators could have their vehicles towed or be arrested.

Other people got warnings for being there. No one was charged with trespassing.
