TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Tallahassee Police say that while processing a public records request, they discovered a misstep in a sexual assault case involving a Florida State football player.

Spokesman David Northway says a piece of DNA evidence in that case was not immediately processed in 2011. The evidence was processed in 2014, and investigators determined that it had no impact on the case. No charges were filed.

The report was among 300 released Wednesday in response to an ESPN request for records containing the names of 360 Florida State athletes.

Police handling of Florida State athletes has come under scrutiny in the wake of a sexual assault allegation against 2013 Heisman winner Jameis Winston. A prosecutor declined to file charges last year, and Florida State cleared Winston of violating the school’s code of conduct.
