BONITA SPRINGS, Fla.- Country music’s popularity is booming in Southwest Florida! In the last few months, big name artists have visited the area, such as Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert and Alan Jackson. In April, the three day CountryLife Music Festival is coming to town.

“I would say there is a country boom all over the country, but especially in the State of Florida.”

Its popularity is quite clear when looking at the festivals that have come to area.

“Country is so popular right now, all age groups are gravitating towards it,” said Program Director and Operations Manager, Randy Savage with 101.9.

In April, the first ever, three day CountryLife Music Festival is coming to the Florida Tracks and Trails in Punta Gorda.

“It’s really a phenomenal line up, you really have to check it out,” said Savage.

Gator Country 101.9 has teamed up with Florida Tracks and Trails to bring big name artists to the area. This will be the biggest concert of its kind to come to Southwest Florida.

“We are thrilled to bring the country artist down to Florida Tracks and Trails, Lee County, Charlotte County,” said Entertainment Director with Florida Tracks and Trails, Deborah Pollard.

Artist like Big and Rich, Gloriana, Billy Currington, and Chris Young will take the stage and Gator Country just announced Reba McEntire will also perform.

“We want to put together a very family friendly event, but one that speaks across all the ages,” said Pollard.

Savage says the need for country concerts and festivals in Southwest Florida is huge.

“This is what Southwest Florida has been asking about for years, and that’s why the artist want to come here,” Savage told WINK News.

Those in the industry say the concerts are proof that country music has a strong future in this part of the state.

“It’s great to bring an event like this to SWFL, it’s something we’ve never been able to do.”

Florida Tracks and Trails has not said when their official opening is, but says for this three day music festival, everything will be open like the paint ball course and the motocross tracks and trails.

The music festival is April 24th to 26th.
