DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) – Daytona International Speedway will showcase its renovated motorsports stadium next January with the 54th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The 24-hour sports car event will be held Jan. 30-31 and will be the first event upon the completion of Daytona Rising.

Daytona spent $400 million to redevelop the speedway frontstretch. Five expanded and redesigned entrances will lead fans to new escalators and elevators to three different concourse levels. Each level will feature social areas.

The redevelopment will create wider seats, as well as more restrooms and concession stands.

The 2016 Rolex will be the debut for a new set of specifications for the GT Le Mans class. It will compete under GTE specifications, while the GT Daytona class will use FIA GT3 specifications for all of its cars.
