PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- District detectives are seeking assistance in identifying a man who broke into a local restaurant last week.
Deputies responded to an alarm at Jimmy’s Grill, located at 2665 Tamiami Trail, in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 12 to find that the business had been broken into.
They found a rear window pried open, but nobody was inside. When the business owner arrived, he indicated that cash was missing out of a cash register that was found open.
Detectives obtained a copy of surveillance video from the restaurant that showed a man dressed in all white or light-colored clothing. He was wearing glasses and appeared to have a beard. When he was first seen in the video, he did not have anything covering his face, but after he left the view of the camera a couple of time, he returned with his face also covered in white.
Anyone with information on the identity of the man is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101 (ask for District Detectives), or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
