Cape police say man jumped in canal to avoid arrest

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — An man jumped into a canal in an effort to avoid arrest Tuesday after police responded to a disturbance at a convenience store in Cape Coral, authorities said.

Police ultimately arrested Wallie Julien, 21, who’s facing charges of resisting arrest as well as weapons charges. He fled into a canal on the 300 block of Southeast 15th Terrace after the incident at the Circle K at 1829 Skyline Blvd, according to a police report.
