Trees and power lines were down Monday night on Manasota Key. (KIM POWELL / WINK News) ENGLEWOOD, Fla. Several homes and condominiums on Manasota Key were damaged in the wake of a possible tornado Monday night, a Charlotte County emergency official said. Two people sustained minor injuries but refused treatment, Charlotte County Fire and EMS spokeswoman Dee Hawkins-Garland said. Part of North Beach Road was blocked, and trees and power lines were downed. A pontoon boat was also damaged. Power lines were also down at Tamiami Trail and Macewen Drive in Osprey, a Sarasota County official said. The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Sarasota County shortly after 8 p.m. That warning expired at 9 p.m., but not before the weather service warned of a possible tornado coming on shore near Osprey at 8:25 p.m. Farther south, more than 100 Lee County Electric Cooperative customers were without power in northwest Cape Coral and Pine Island as a line of heavy rain moved through the area.
