LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. Microwaves, cabinets, refrigerators and a host of kitchen supplies were strewn in front of a home amid a Lee County Sheriff’s Office investigation Thursday morning.

No arrests have been made and the reason for the investigation is unclear.

Nearby residents believed the owner of the home on Ground Dove Circle near Homestead Road South and Leeland Heights Boulevard West was suspicious and were glad to see deputies on scene.

Ann Simenton, a neighbor of the man who owned the home, urged the sheriff’s office to release information.

“I think the neighborhood should at least be made aware of what’s going on,” Simenton said. “If we are in the dark, it’s not fair to us.”

The homeowner traveled to Miami often, people in the neighborhood said.

He’d recently built additions to the home. A separate building that appears to be a storage facility is on the property.

The investigation is ongoing.
