Collier County Sheriff’s Office One man was seen being escorted out of a Collier County hospital by deputies after he was allegedly found with a gun during an incident with hospital staff. The incident occurred at Physicians Regional Hospital on Collier Blvd. Police say Ryan Scott Bennett, 48, got into an altercation with hospital security staff early Sunday morning. During the altercation, staff saw a gun on Scott’s waistband, according to authorities. Staff were able to get the gun before deputies arrived. Elias Yacob, WINK News Scott was taken out of the hospital in handcuffs and booked into the county jail. Even with a concealed weapons permit, you cannot bring a weapon into an emergency room, police say. Now Bennett faces two counts of battery against security staff and the introduction of a weapon into a hospital. Bennett was previously arrested in 2015 for a DUI.
