The suspect accused of a 2012 murder in Gulfstream Isles made his first appearance in court Wednesday morning.
Honduran national Jonathan Espinosa appeared in front of a judge today for the first time to determine if he will be allowed a bond.
The judge ruled Espinosa was a flight risk, and worried if he got out that authorities would have a hard time tracking him down again. Authorities say Espinosa was living in the country illegally.
Espinosa was arrested for the murder of Shirley Zerna, a 28-year-old woman who was found dead in June of 2012 on Red Cedar Drive in Gulfstream Isles apartments.
Espinosa is due back in court on May 6.
