It is bringing in more jobs and entertainment into our area, such as Dave & Buster’s, which opens this weekend. But the changing face of Bell Tower Shops is also pushing out old favorites, such as popular restaurants. Dave and Buster’s is all the buzz in Lee County. “Used to live in Miami, so Dave & Buster’s used to be a big part of my childhood,” said Daniela Naranjo, who lives in Lehigh Acres. “I’m glad it’s here, so I can experience it with my friends.” “I think it’s great,” said Peter Duguay, who lives in Fort Myers. “It’s very convenient.” The entertainment giant opens its newest location in the Bell Tower Shops on Monday. “Excited for all the people in Fort Myers to see what Dave & Buster’s has to offer and just come have a great time with the games, full-service bar, great food just have a good time,” said Hailey O’Quinn, senior manager at Dave & Buster’s. The opening comes on the heels of the announced closing of both Bistro 41 and CRU Restaurant. Both said they are closing their doors this month because of lease disagreements with the Bell Tower Shops. Bell Tower is working on its response for what will that the place of those restaurants as of the publication of this story. With the popular restaurants leaving, many consider getting an entertainment company like Dave & Buster’s a score for this area. “A lot more people because usually when I come here, it’s kind of empty,” Naranjo said. “It’ll keep the crowds coming,” Duguay said. There are over 130 games, including classic arcade games. But it is not all play. “We brought 250 new jobs to the area,” O’Quinn said. “I also think that Dave & Buster’s is a destination, so it’s going to bring people from all over. It’s going to help the surrounding restaurants around us as well.
