15-year old girl injured after being struck by a vehicle early Monday morning

A girl was struck by a vehicle early Monday morning as she was walking down the road in Lehigh Acres.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the 15-year-old girl was walking with traffic along 8th Street W, approaching Xelda Avenue.

The young girl, dressed in dark clothing was struck from behind by the vehicle.

The girl only suffered minor injuries and was transported to Golisano Children’s Hospital.

The collision is still under investigation.
