Credit: WINK News. Nonprofit Hoops on Mission hosted its fifth annual Thanksgiving dinner giveaway at the Jones Walker Palm Gardens apartments in the Dunbar of Fort Myers Sunday. The youth organization partnered with local churches and donors to buy turkeys, vegetables, mashed potatoes and cornbread for 300 families who needed support for the holidays. “This is our backyard in Fort Myers,” said Karyna Jackson, co-founder of Hoops on Mission. “A lot of people don’t know about Dunbar, especially Jones Walkers. “So being able to be here and just love our neighbor is great.” Hoops on Mission will continue its season of giving with an annual Christmas drive in December.
