A driver died in a crash in Fort Myers early Friday morning.
The driver’s vehicle was northbound on US-41 in front of Lee Memorial Hospital around 2 a.m. when it ran off the roadway, flipped a number of times, and collided with a light pole.
It was in a construction zone with chunks of concrete in the road, and some street lights are now out from Canal Street to South Street following the collision, but all traffic signals are still working. The road is currently closed.
