A screen capture shows an Amazon package catapulting through the air after the delivery driver threw it out of the vehicle’s window.

When expecting a package there are typical concerns of porch pirates.

But for one Lehigh Acres neighborhood, they now have to worry about careless delivery drivers.

One driver launched a package out of his truck’s driver-side window. It was caught on camera in the area of Arthur Avenue.

Brian Keller said he checked the app after a motion alert on Tuesday afternoon.

“I feel like that driver had to be one of two things,” said Keller who was waiting for the package. “He had to either be dumb or he just didn’t care because most people have cameras in their houses nowadays. How could you possibly do that?”

Upset at the sight, Keller reached out to Amazon.

“Basically just offering, if it was damaged, offering a refund or replacement,” Keller said. “that’s all they did.”

Amazon’s website said the company partners with an independent delivery organization that helps recruit and oversee drivers.

“I feel like the driver should be held accountable for what he did, it’s hard to find good people in this business, in any business right now. So it’s just mainly- you’re not always going to get the perfect driver or a good employee, if they do something wrong like this, you can’t screen that. ,” Keller said.

Inside the envelope was an Amazon Fire TV Stick that was undamaged.

WINK News reached out to Amazon but has not heard back.

Amazon sent WINK News the following statement:

“This does not reflect the high standards we have for drivers who deliver packages for Amazon. We have apologized to the customer and will take appropriate action as needed.”
