Vandal caught on camera spray painting properties of Trump supporters in Collier County

“Lock Trump up.” That is what was spray painted across a homeowner’s garage and lawn in Collier County. The culprit was caught on surveillance video.

The act of political hate happened before Trump announced he was running again for president.

Two homeowners have the video to prove that a man targeted their properties because they support Donald Trump.

The first video shows the moment a man on an electric bike cruised up to this home on Lakewood Boulevard in East Naples and spray painted over a Trump flag and painted “Lock Trump up” on the garage door.

Richard Jokela told WINK News about when he discovered what happened.

“Come on, I looked, I was like, oh my gosh, ‘the kids were out.’ and then when I looked a little bit further, I went in and looked at my footage, and I realized it wasn’t a kid. It was a grown adult doing something stupid,” said Jokela.

The vandal did not stop at Jokela’s. Neighbors believe the same guy traveled a few blocks to Ray Reil’s house.

Reil’s surveillance video shows the vandal walking up and painting “Lock Trump up” on his garage.

“You know, that is in our Constitution. And I possibly it may upset some people out there as far as flying the let’s go, Brandon flag, but that’s my right. And everybody should have that right to express their opinions like that,” Reil said.

Both of the victims filed reports with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office. They hope their videos help deputies find the guy who targeted them over their support of Donald Trump.

They wonder why people with different opinions can’t just get along.

“We can agree to disagree. But as far as criminal mischief, like what this character did, is totally uncalled for,” said Reil.

Both victims said they were strangers to each other before the vandal struck. They say the only good to come from this is that they’re now friends.

If you recognize the vandal, you are asked to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 239-252-9300.
