The Cape Coral Police Department has arrested a man accused of trying to steal a car on Christmas Eve.
Police arrested Jaden Donovan, 19, at around 5:13 a.m. on Tuesday after a burglary was reported near Southeast 46th Street.
The caller reported leaving for work when they saw a silhouette, later identified as Donovan, inside their vehicle with the driver’s side door open.
Upon closing the door to his home, Donovan exited the vehicle and fled on foot away from the caller.
They then called the police, providing a detailed description of Donovan.
He was later located at the intersection of Southeast 45th Street and 14th Avenue, where he was arrested.
Donovan has been charged with burglary and loitering.
He is currently in the Lee County Jail.
