Law enforcement conducted a raid on Wednesday at a home on Everson Miles Circle in North Fort Myers.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was present at the scene, with investigators seen entering and exiting the house.
According to the Lee County Property Appraiser, Shane Sibert, the former program manager of Southwest Florida’s Task Force 6 and current employee of Estero Fire Rescue, owns the home.
FDLE agents sorted through papers on a fold-out table in the driveway and collected bins of evidence. They repeatedly went in and out of the garage, loading items into a blue van, while undercover cars lined the outside of the residence.
A neighbor, Kevin Landers, was surprised at the sight of the raid.
“I never saw anything crazy,” said Landers. “I don’t know the guy. I’ve waved to him a few times but never really talked to him, anything like that.”
Items removed from the home included a baseball glove, a vacuum cleaner and several boxes.
FDLE said they were executing a search warrant, and no one was home at the time. The investigation remains ongoing.
Correction: an earlier version of this story said Sibert was the program manager of Southwest Florida’s Task Force 6, but he hasn’t worked there for months.
