FORT MYERS, Fla. – A Lehigh Acres duo is in the Hendry County Jail facing murder charges for allegedly killing a homeowner in an attempted robbery Saturday, authorities said Wednesday. Bubba O’Connor, 42, and Wendy Soucier, 49, were armed when they went to the Clewiston home of 72-year-old Cherry Ermine and 69-year-old Frank Jansson, investigators said. A fight broke out when the O’Connor and Soucier attempted to rob the homeowners and Ermine was killed, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Jansson was critically injured, FDLE said. O’Conner and Soucier have not been granted bond. They are facing charges for murder, attempted second degree murder and armed robbery.
