Dozens of bikers and cars showed up on Saturday to ride with JJ, an Immokalee High school student diagnosed with cancer.

JJ’s Make-A-Wish got delayed due to COVID-19, so his community still wanted to do something to support him.

Ray Erickson met JJ for the first time on Saturday morning to pick him up at his Immokalee home and take him to the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Naples.

“There’s a lot of people out there that wish they were as brave as he is,” Erickson said. “More people need to do this. There’s too many people out in this world who are miserable. Sometimes all it takes is for one person to say hi and you might get a smile.”

Groups such as Bikers Against Child Abuse joined in for Saturday’s ride. The Ferrari Club of Naples also came out and supplied about 20 cars. JJ even got to go along for a ride in one of them.
