A 36-year-old Arcadia man was arrested for his involvement in a hit-and-run earlier this month.
Paul Poffenbarger was arrested for the crime that occurred on Oct. 20. He is out on bond from DeSoto County Jail.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 22-year-old woman died of her injuries on Tuesday.
The woman was walking east on the north shoulder of State Road 70 when the vehicle driven by Poffenbarger traveled off the roadway and struck the woman.
Poffenbarger is accused of fleeing after the crash.
