The Animal Refuge Center is proud to announce the 27th annual Starlight Auction on Saturday, Nov. 27 at the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa. The Starlight Auction is ARC’s signature event and main fundraiser for Southwest Florida’s largest no-kill shelter.

“This is an exciting time at the Animal Refuge Center,” says board vice president Rob Spicker. “Our brand new intake and medical facility is almost complete and should be operational before the auction. It will greatly improve our ability to care for the pets that ARC takes in after no one else would. It is named in honor of Sharon Bodenhafer, and the auction is in her honor as well, thanks to her husband Chuck and his generous gift as this year’s title sponsor.”

The live auction features more than a dozen items including jewelry, weekend getaways and an African safari. A special item will allow guests just to support surgeries for animals in need in the new medical center. The silent auction will feature more than 100 baskets. Some are for cat owners and some for dog owners, others include golf outings, hotel stays, gift certificates and so much more. Bidding will open online for all the available items several days ahead of the Nov. 27 event.

Sponsorships are still available for businesses and individuals interested in supporting the Animal Refuge Center. They start at just $300 and go up to $5,000. Individual tickets for the auction are on sale through the ARC website for $100 per person and include admission to the live/silent auction, complimentary cocktail, dinner, dessert and coffee.
