Minnesota Twins host open house at CenturyLink Sports Complex

FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Minnesota Twins are hosting a family open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly-renovated CenturyLink Sports Complex.

The open house will take place 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Sunday, February 22. The ribbon will be cut at noon.

Check out the new facilities and partake in a variety of activities including:

·         Ribbon cutting ceremony near the grand entrance at noon
·         Self-guided tours of the newly-renovated Hammond Stadium
·         On-field baseball/softball clinics for local youth to teach hitting and fielding skills
·         Baseball-related activities for children
·          “Ask the experts” from Lee County, the Minnesota Twins, Manhattan Twins Joint Venture (construction) and Populous (architect)
·         Meet and greet with Twins players
·         Discounted concessions

Fans in attendance will also have access to the new team retail store, be able to purchase tickets at the recently opened ticket office at Hammond Stadium and make plans to come back on March 1 for a second open house at the stadium.

All attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to support the Harry Chapin Food Bank. Food items can be deposited near the gate entrances. Parking for the event is free.

In attendance will be Dave St. Peter, Minnesota Twins President; Paul Molitor, Minnesota Twins Manager; Bert Blyleven, Twins Broadcaster and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer; and, Lee County Commissioners.

CenturyLink Sports Complex and Hammond Stadium are at 14100 Six Mile Cypress Parkway.
