A 49-year-old Naples woman will serve just over eight years in prison for stealing close to $100,000 from two victims, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
Elena Anne Diamante Moll was found guilty of scheme to defraud, criminal use of personal identification (a first-degree felony), criminal use of personal identification (a second-degree felony), use of a scanning device or a re-encoder to defraud and exploitation of the elderly.
Prosecutors say Moll was arrested in 2017.
While running in a hair salon and interior design business, in 2014, Moll stole the credit card number of a friend and she also accepted the credit card number from a woman who was suffering from dementia.
She ran the credit cards through her credit card scanning device and paid the rent on her condo and salon.
She stole $58,860 from one victim and $37,000 from another.
She tried to steal more but her credit card scanner did not allow the transaction to go through, prosecutors said.
